Abstract

SiO2 was modified with Al2O3 or SH groups, then activated with Au nanoparticles (by redn. of HAuCl4 with urea or NaBH4) and used as catalyst for selective oxidn. of glucose to gluconic acid with H2O2. The highest catalytic activity was obsd. for materials modified with Al2O3 and activated with Au nanoparticles by using urea as pptg. agent.
