Abstract

Phthalic anhydride was esterified with n-heptyl, n-nonyl and n-undecyl alcohols in the presence of various catalysts at 413 K to 453 K to determine the reaction kinetics. It has been found different kinetics for different catalysts used for the formation of diester, a slow second step of the process. The kinetic parameters are given.
