Solid foams: alternative for dumped beds in trickle-bed applications

Abstract
Solid foams are proposed as internals in trickle bed reactors instead of dumped beds. Morphological parameters of the NiCr foam are compared with fixed bed. Experiments proved the specific surface and void fraction of foams are higher and foam flow resistances are lower than that of traditional packing.
