Abstract

A mathematical model is derived of the PSA separation of carbon dioxide from flue gases and its verification is carried out based on experiments in a two-column laboratory PSA installation. The results of simulation are presented concerning the effect of gas flow rates during purge and vacuum regeneration on CO2 content in the enriched gas. It is found that a three-column system can yield a product containing over 80% of CO2, with a full recovery of this species.
