Kinetics of non-catalytic combustion of methane in monolith bed at low and high temperature

Abstract

The kinetic parameters presented in a previous papers were used in simulation of non-catalytic reversal reactor (Thermal Flow Reversal Reactor –TFRR). It has been found that those equations describe the kinetics well for only low temperatures up to about 700°C. Thus, it was necessary to find a new experimental method for evaluation of kinetic parameters valid for the higher temperatures up to 900°C. The paper presents results of methane combustion kinetic studies within the temperature range of 660 – 820°C and 770 – 900°C. It was proposed a method of the reaction rate calculation with use of the kinetic parameters obtained in both ranges of temperatures.
